Update: Stephen is taking waterlooSPEED from being a research project to a company providing innovative car solutions
Bio: Stephen is a native of the Kitchener-Waterloo region. He has completed work terms both in Canada and abroad. Most recently he worked in Munich, Germany for Automation Tooling Systems (Fall 2005) and at National Instruments in Austin, Texas (Summer 2006). The project concept is a combination of his automotive passion and interest in the future of control. He is ambitious enough to use his personal mode of transportation as the prototype vehicle fo rthe software based engine controller.

Name: Rishi Lukka

Role: Controls Engineering Lead -- Modelling and Simulation, Electronic Circuit Integration, Website Design and Devlopment
Bio: Rishi is native to Oakville, Ontario. He has completed work terms in Canada and the UK, in a large variety of fields: Instrumentation Design using AC/DC Circuits, Software & database programming and Technical Sales. Since graduating, he travelled through East Africa and Europe before moving to Austin, Texas to start working for National Instruments, starting in August.

Name: Devin Koopmans
Academic: B.A.Sc - Systems Design Engineering, Management Sciences Option
Role: Simulation Engineering Lead, Reverse Engineering
Bio: Devin grew up in Whitby, Ontario before moving to Waterloo for University. He has recently returned from time abroad in Australia, where he took his 3B term on exchange at the University of Queensland. Devin learned to program in a number of languages while working at an interface design research lab at the University of Waterloo and at the Systems engineering department of General Motors of Canada. Another work term at GM as a production supervisor gave him first-hand experience in car assembly and helped peak his interest in the automotive industry.

Name: Chris Kinvig
Academic: B.A.Sc - Systems Design Engineering
Role: Vehicle Interface Specialist, Electro-Mechanical Integration, VW Guru in training
Bio: : Chris Kinvig is from the Ottawa Valley, and he is the furthest from home on the WaterlooSpeed team. Migrating from Renfrew, a small town west of Ottawa, he now calls Waterloo his second home. Performing vehicle system testing at Volvo and Skyjack, and manufacturing system development at Toyota, Chris has become familiar with a variety of control systems that directly relate to the WaterlooSpeed venture. The bar has been set and with some focused ambition, and a lot of hard work, he vows to exceed all expectations.
